On cat litter
It has been around four months since I adopted Bartleby and Trout, and in my small, one-bedroom apartment one of the biggest challenges has been finding the ideal litter.
The situation: my two kittens share one lidded jumbo litter box, which sits in the bathroom with a litter mat under it. The kittens are perfectly happy waiting in line or even doing their thing at the same time, but dust and...

Connecting to Collections →
After seeing Connecting to Collections pop up on MUSEUM-L over the past week or two, I decided to check it out. The first two pages I landed on just happen to be webinars concerning my two biggest issues at work right now: shelving and data loggers.
I haven’t watched these yet, but I do like that the webinar pages also link to other pertinent resources. Once I read and watch a little more I...

Blue painter’s tape. It sticks securely and comes off without residue....
– from Johanna Goldfeld Design
Ingenious idea—and, as my work fitting frames has taught me, even if there’s some residue left on the wall, a Staedtler Mars eraser does a pretty good job of taking it off. Painter’s tape comes in black, too.

SFFSFF was as fun as I’d expected it to be, even though I only made it to the day-after encore showing. At first, I was surprised that they went ahead and showed the winners first, but many of the remaining films were strong too. My favorite actually ended up being the last one shown today: “Decapoda Shock.” This teaser really doesn’t tell you anything at all about the...

taffypulller asked: Your two cats are the cutest. I run fuck-yeahseafood and while I was searching the trout tag, I found Trout. He's a little cutie :)

My second 5k: under 35:00! →
I had to run the Fremont Oktoberfest 5k as my second race and my first in Seattle. I think all of my jogs around Green Lake really helped me improve my time, since my first race in Bowie was over 37 and I thought I was going to explode with still over a mile left then. Really looking forward to more races in this city!

"Crowd at (e)merge art fair fails to understand... →
Having now worked in DC and Seattle, I find this an interesting contention from the article linked above:
Dillin, who’s also an adjunct professor at the Corcoran and American University, suspects something else is at play in her audience’s non-participation. “It’s people in D.C.,” she suggests. “There’s a lot of needing to act professional.” Easier to ask questions about lasers than risk...
